Marine Renewables Canada Celebrates Nova Scotia’s Successful Offshore Wind Prequalification Process

Halifax (Nova Scotia), June 26, 2026 – Marine Renewables Canada (MRC) welcomes today’s publication by the Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator (CNSOER) of the companies that have elected to be publicly identified as prequalified to participate in Nova Scotia’s first offshore wind Call for Bids. The publication marks another important milestone as Nova Scotia advances one of Canada’s most significant clean energy opportunities. Only companies that successfully complete the prequalification process are eligible to participate in the upcoming Call for Bids, bringing the province another step closer to launching its offshore wind industry. Marine Renewables Canada congratulates all companies that successfully completed the prequalification process. We also recognize those companies that elected to be publicly identified by the CNSOER, including MRC members DEME Concessions Wind N.V, DP Energy Canada Limited, Q ENERGY France SAS, Ming Yang Smart Energy Group Limited, Northland Power Inc., and Simply Blue Energy (OSW) Ltd., on reaching this important milestone. “This is another major step in building Canada’s offshore wind industry,” said Elisa Obermann, Executive Director of Marine Renewables Canada. “The strong interest from experienced offshore wind developers demonstrates growing confidence in Nova Scotia’s world-class offshore wind resource and the tremendous opportunity ahead.
