The IEA’s Implementing Agreement on Renewable Energy Technology Deployment (IEA-RETD) is launching a request for proposals to carry out a study and provide recommendations on support policies for the different steps of the innovation chain for the more emerging technologies such as wave and tidal, offshore wind, CSP, low temperature power generation. It is envisaged that the study will compare and assess successful support policies given to the currently relatively mature renewable energy technologies (onshore wind, hydropower, solar PV) in different stages and positions along the learning curve. The analysis will also focus on the market dynamics to date and the needs of current market players, such as venture capitalists and technology developers.
